Guest Speaker Session #3: Dr. Patricia Hynds
Our meeting with Dr. Patricia Hynds today was an amazing experience! Even though it was disappointing to just see her through the screen, Dr. Hynds successfully replied to all of the questions we had prepared and gave us a compelling speech about her expertise in women empowerment. She talked about how she entered the female empowerment scene and the steps she took to come into the Traprock Center for Peace and Justice. It was so cool to be able to speak to a retired Professor of Environmental Health at Boston University. She also works for the Greenfield Recorder, which made me more impressed by her feats.

Before our meeting with Dr. Patricia Hynds, Secretary Peggy Huang and Board Member Meryl Gilbert gave amazing musical performances. They both prepared songs written by female composers–Meryl on the guitar singing “Spring Into Summer” by Lizzy McAlpine and Peggy on the cello playing “Piano Concerto in A Minor” by Clara Schumann. Then, we shifted our attention to the Zoom meeting with Dr. Patricia Hynds and learned about her accomplishments in empowering women and her intentions.
